I am very excited to introduce this new blog to the community of parents, faculty,staff, and friends of The Peck School. For many years I have facilitated the meetings of the Peck parent book club at school. Everyone has enjoyed these meetings, but often folks were not able to attend, felt rushed, or were unable to complete the books in time for the meeting. This new format will allow members to read books at their own pace, comment as they can, or simply check in to find a good book to read. I have chosen the books for the first four months, and these titles will be available for purchase at the Parents Association Fall Book Sale. Please note the books listed in the side bar for "Upcoming Books" and the months I will post comments. Do not feel you have to read all the books, or even one a month. Participate as you can, and comment as you wish!
The first book "Room: a novel" by Emma Donoghue will be read in November and I will post my comments on the book the first week of the month. In the meantime enjoy some of these past book club titles (listed below), and I will be looking forward to hearing all of your comments on "Room." Please contact me if you have any questions!
